It was the famous Cardinal Schuster himself who gave the store Agenzia Ecclesiastica Tricella the title of “Archbishop’s store.” The earliest records date back to 1888: the then proprietor Paolo Albizzati was already dedicated to the sale of nativity scenes, holy water fonts, paintings, madonnas, crucifixes, sculptures, reliefs, and all other forms of sacred objects. Paolo Albizzati was succeeded by Carlo Tricella, who personalized the sign in 1921 and moved the premises to the then 2 Santa Tecla Street in the present premises. He was succeeded by his two daughters. In 1983 the business was bought by Ambrogio Barbareschi who, using his background as a craftsman (he was the owner of one of the best silver and bronze foundries in Italy, collaborating with some of the best sculptors of the time including Manz\u00f9, Calvelli and Manfrini) with his enthusiasm and passion, enlarged and enriched the store by introducing icons, statues and reliefs in wood from Val Gardena, hand-chiseled sacred furniture in bronze and silver. To this day, and for more than 20 years, the business has been passed on to his children Francesca and Giuseppe who, with the same passion and research, continue the history of this ancient workshop. Upon entering, it is impossible to remain indifferent to the charm of all the statues of all sizes and materials that crowd the many display cases. They range from the tiny 40-cent plastic sheep (beautiful in their simplicity) to the thousand-euro terracotta Magi, as well as painted icons, jewelry, rosaries and more. <\/em><\/p>\n
