We are in via Zenale, in Giusy Bresciani’s atelier, a point of reference for over a century for those looking for a strictly handmade tailored and personalized hat. Giusy begins her artisan path at the age of eighteen, because her mother suddenly passes away from her and her father trusts her, putting her to the test for a year. She immediately became passionate and decided to relaunch, also adding the production of clothes, in addition to hairstyles. The mother made “flowers and feathers” as per registration with the Chamber of Commerce, at a time when millinery was divided between the felt hat to wear every day and the ceremonial hat for special occasions.
\nThe Bresciani atelier has always focused on the second type, knowing how to transform itself over time, now also reaching headbands and all the accessories that decorate women’s garments. The market has changed a lot. \u201cWe hope that we will return to a lasting purchase, thought out and chosen with care – comments Giusy who believes in sustainability. Instead of buying so many modest things, we take a few quality items that we will find in the closet for years. I like that the hat is no longer the status symbol it was fifty years ago – she says – but that girls wear it to have fun, transform and play. Not everything, however, has changed for the better – continues Giusy – because the new generations do not know how to appreciate the attention to detail that exists in handmade and made-to-measure products and because now the pr\u00e8t \u00e0 porter has conditioned tastes and fashions ” .
