The history of the automobile, status symbol par excellence, spanned the entire twentieth century, constituting one of the most loved and sought-after goods by Italians. Aldo Frigerio, a pioneer in the sector, started the tire business in Milan in 1922 and the first shop was opened in Piazza Cinque Giornate. In the 1920s there were few cars, but many tires, due to the poor quality of both the roads and the tyres.
