BOTTEGA MILANO, the book by Elisabetta Invernici and Alberto Oliva tells the secrets and reveals the faces of its protagonists, thanks to Roby Bettolini’s artistic shots. An exciting journey to discover untold stories through the tales, images and testimonies jealously guarded in drawers or proudly displayed on store walls. Milan is full of storefronts that have more than 50 years of continuous operation. They are the ones who make tradition and pass it on, often along with organic and conscious innovation.

The photographic volume, retracing the founding spirit of the Galleria&Friends Milano project, enhances the historic stores by focusing on three areas:

Galleria Vittorio Emanuele: the “living room” of the Milanese, a stage for art and entertainment, and home of the Futurists, it is the landmark of taste in all its declinations and still holds within it some historic establishments of great value, among the best stores and restaurants in the center.

Quadrilateral: the prêt-à-porter scene, where since the 1980s fashion has been celebrated with all its energy, capable of bringing the world to Milan.

Friends: the city that radiates in neighborhoods, in time and space, the forge of the Ambrosian spirit, the industriousness and grit of those who never give up.

Galleria&Friends’ journey in search of our region’s most visionary historic workshops continues. The photo book enhances historic workshops by focusing on distinct areas-Milan is still the heart of the volume, with its storefronts and artisan workshops. Lombardy: ample space is given to historic companies based around the Lombard provinces of Monza and Brianza, Varese, Pavia, Crema and Cremona. Busto Arsizio: the highlight of the volume is the focus on Lombardy’s first and still only “Historic Trade District.”

Bottega Milan Lombardy, the book

Galleria&Friends is always on the road to discover the best historical workshops in our Region: one year after the release of Bottega Milano Lombardia, new workshops are added creating the volume Botteghe Milano e dintorni where the testimonies of many other artisans and merchants who carry on their businesses, handing them down from generation to generation with constant passion are collected. Botteghe Storiche as places of culture, examples of art and craft and, for all intents and purposes, living museums thanks to the storytelling of the owners, heirs and custodians of historical archives and artisan workshops that are still active.

Bottega Milano and its surroundings, the book

The fourth volume of Bottega Milano was created in the context of the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games and shares its core principles of loyalty, resourcefulness, and passion. The selected excellences form a broad and representative panorama. Alongside the great names of historic craftsmanship and commerce, there is also space for businesses linked to sport, places where sporting gestures meet tradition, technique, and the transmission of knowledge. Special attention is paid to historic districts, the true engines of urban life. Borgo San Gottardo, with its popular and productive identity, and Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, with the commercial and cultural contradictions of its 160 years, are compelling examples of how urban space can maintain an active and recognizable role over time. The paintings of Marco Crippa, a painter deeply connected to Milan, accompany the narrative of a city in constant motion: streets, neighborhoods, and architecture vibrate with energy.
