Milan is the city in Europe with the most comfortable streets and the most beautiful courtyards inside the houses. Square courtyards, surrounded, like the ancient Greeks,
by a portico, formed by very beautiful granite columns.
(Stendhal)
One of the most fascinating neighborhoods to immerse yourself in the magic of the Milan of the past, hidden from the sight of those who live the city with the frenzy of our times, is certainly Corso San Gottardo. Here the most glamorous versions of the Milan of the present coexist with the homes most faithful to the tenement houses of the past.
The Municipio 5 of Milan promotes a day of tours and performances curated by Elisabetta Invernici and Alberto Oliva.
In collaboration with the Association of Merchants of Corso San Gottardo.
A day of “Open Courtyards” in which the public was able to freely enter to admire these very picturesque views of high historical-cultural value, among the few still authentic and full of meaning.
During the day, the courtyards were animated by THEATRICAL PERFORMANCES dedicated to two female characters who contributed to making Milan great, starting from the tenement houses and the workshops inside the courtyards and courtyards: Rosa Genoni, whose death marks seventy years in 2024, and Alfonsina Strada, who was the surprise protagonist of the Giro d’Italia a century ago, in 1924.
