For 100 years at the forefront of four wheels, leader in the sector, without ever leaving anyone stranded.
The most representative name in the sector in Milan is Frigerio Gomme, a specialist in tires and in services related to their repair and maintenance for exactly one hundred years. The history of the automobile, status symbol par excellence, spanned the entire twentieth century, constituting one of the most loved and sought-after goods by Italians. Aldo Frigerio, a pioneer in the sector, started the tire business in Milan in 1922 and the first shop was opened in Piazza Cinque Giornate. In the 1920s there were few cars, but many tires, due to the poor quality of both the roads and the tyres. Over time and generations, through brothers, children, grandchildren, skilled collaborators who became owners and other expert tire specialists who gradually join, the group grows, extending over time to the current 12 Frigerio Gomme sales points, distributed in the city and identifiable thanks to the original and design brand – in the shape of a tire – designed in 1971 by the well-known graphic designer Ingo Mojen. From the rubbers of yesteryear, with a fabric shoulder to replace the cotton, to the introduction of rayon cloths, then nylon and later the more resistant steel threads.
And then the tubeless without inner tube, and the ‘run-on-flat’ protagonists of a sector that never stops.
