Anselmo Grimoldi began his career as a goldsmith’s apprentice and completed a long and glorious apprenticeship that took him to the top of the sector. The Grimoldi brand assumes fundamental importance under the arcades of Piazza del Duomo, combining the dual activity of producing and selling luxury jewelery and watches. Today in the shop there are Pamela and her brother Giorgio, the family artist. “I have fun – he says – my work is a great passion, we have both the jewelery and the watches line. At first, Dad was only a goldsmith and often produced on the customer’s direct design. At the end of the Nineties we designed a very successful model, the Borgonovo watch, which was meant to be sold here in the Duomo, but we were able to export it all over the world”. Anselmo, in collaboration with Vincent Calabrese, one of the biggest names in the world in the sector, designed the first watch model with the “flying tourbillon” movement, whose complex and fascinating manufacturing process appeared in installments in a rich photographic reportage in the prestigious Polso magazine.
