Ottica Marchesi Milano

Eye for detail.

Memory and innovation, craft gesture, Milanese style. A glance of understanding is enough. Since 1959.

“Let’s take a closer look. Our creations are an authentic Milanese symbol: models entirely handmade, echoing the city’s identity – such as the iconic Brera and Scala frames”. We are at Ottica Marchesi, founded in 1959 just steps from the headquarters of Corriere della Sera, in the heart of Brera, where its founder Angelo was born. For over 66 years, the tradition has lived on through his children Guido and Sofia, and his grandson Guglielmo. Contemporary inspiration draws from the great Italian classics, reinterpreted with a gaze turned toward the past yet nourished by constant research into materials and styles. Ottica Marchesi embodies a timeless story and an artisanal mastery that transforms every pair of glasses into a unique chapter of Italian high craftsmanship. As Guglielmo explains: “For us, hand made means craftsmanship as an absolute value. Each model is worked entirely by hand, following the same steps as in the past. Where machines produce quantity, our artisans choose quality – creating few pieces, all different, each with its own soul.” Sofia adds: “Home made means that we work side by side with master eyewear makers and oversee the entire supply chain with meticulous care, step by step – from selecting the finest acetate sheets to the finished product.” Guido continues: “Love made suggests that this is a living tradition, sustained for more than half a century by the rediscovery of old projects, drawings, and molds to be reinterpreted – blending vintage and retro lines with contemporary design and new trends.” That is why choosing Ottica Marchesi is not simply about purchasing a product, but about living an experience – entering a world where the lens becomes vision, detail becomes emotion, and every creation tells a story shaped by passion, dedication, and history.
