The secrets of Neapolitan elegance
On the occasion of Milan Fashion Week 2023, Galleria & Friends, in collaboration with the prestigious historic Bottega Cilento 1780, presented “The secrets of the Neapolitan elegance”, theatrical meeting – conceived by Elisabetta Invernici, directed by Alberto Oliva – which returns the colors And the perfumes of the Neapolitan style of the nineteenth century through the dialogue between Oscar Wilde – the most famous dandy in the history of literature – and Matilde Serao – writer and journalist, author of the investigation “The belly of Naples”.
The evening was animated by the actress Silvana Filippelli, in the role of Matilde Serao, writer and journalist of the Mattino di Napoli, who in 1897 took care of the arrival in the city of the most famous Dandy in the world, the Oscar Wilde Estate, played by the ‘Actor Gianfilippo Falsina Lamberti.
The reading of his article, published on 7 October 1897 in the morning, will be the pretext to hire a dialogue between the writer and the poet, and relive the atmosphere of the Naples of the late nineteenth century so well described in the masterpiece of Matilde Serao “The belly of Naples”.
The meeting was held at the new Milanese shop of the Cilento 1780 brand, the only boutique in addition to that of via Chiaia in Naples, a historical place reborn on the traces of the ancient spicemate present in the heart of Brera since 1591 where the owner Ugo Cilento welcomed the public.
