By organizing the Museum Shops Tour, we want to draw attention to craft stores that boast a museum-like soul, strong historical collections with unique pieces not for sale and workshops that are still active. Museum Shops champion specific initiatives as custodians of memory and diffusers of innovation, places of study and research, of exchange and collection.
We began on Thursday, October 5, with “LIGHT!” Meeting with the Botteghe Museo di Milano at Libreria Bocca in Galleria Vittorio Emanuele on the occasion of the installation of Franco Gervasio’s Works of Light and Color, curated by Vera Agosti.
On Friday, Oct. 6, we visited JMonteiro Milan Shops (Corso San Gottardo, 18), Farmacia San Gottardo (Via Pavia, 1), Argenteria Miracoli (Via Burigozzo, 3).
The next stop, Saturday, October 7, featured us at Legatoria d’Arte Giovanni Codina– Via Chianciano, 4 .
Finally on Sunday, October 8, everyone at “Milanesando”: a cultural event in the courtyard of Bottega Museo Martin Luciano-Alzaia Naviglio Grande, 58-with songs in Milanese by Fabio Lossani and paintings and engravings by Gigi Pedroli.
