“Rosa Genoni MilanoLab,” a project of the Profumo di Milano Cultural Association, organized the meeting at Libreria Bocca in Galleria on April 15, 2024, on the occasion of the national Made in Italy Day, where Rosa Genoni returns as a protagonist in an institutional meeting.

On this occasion a dialogue led by Elisabetta Invernici was held with the protagonists of Made in Italy in the fields of art, fashion and institutions to analyze the contemporary meaning of this expression that has become a brand.

The earliest traces of the definition of Made in Italy so far date back to 1926 although it was in the 1980s that the eponymous brand became established worldwide. In fact, the time clock should be advanced to 1906 when a Milanese seamstress first used this allocution in an interview in which she intended to indicate “the creative artistic identity and craftsmanship of textile artifacts.” This visionary woman’s name is Rosa Genoni and she is the founder of Italian fashion.
